In August 1994, while completing my senior year at UC Berkeley, I found myself working part-time (for $5/hr) in the mailroom at an ad agency called Goodby, Silverstein & Partners in San Francisco. I was completely clueless to the fact that this was the "Got Milk" agency — the hottest firm in the nation (or even the world) at the time. As they kept winning award after award, I finally caught on.
After graduating, I became an Intern and then a Jr. Designer, then a Designer, then a Jr. Art Director and finally an Art Director. It was a slow trajectory, but it was growth the way it used to be. I had the very best (and most generous) creative mentors on the planet. I spent almost 7 years there. When I got out, I was forged with a creative standard set ridiculously high. To this day, I strive to continue that standard in all that I do.
